I Typed in My Name and the Results Had Me Speechless

Ever try Googling someone only to come up with basic information and maybe a link or two to an outdated social media profile?

There's a new website going around that promises to reveal much more then just a simple google search can show you.

Been issued a speeding ticket? Failed to stop at a stop sign? What about your family members? And friends? If you are like most of us, the answer to at least one of those questions is “yes”—the vast majority of us have slipped up at least once or twice.

An innovative new websiteTruthfinder is now revealing the full “scoop” on millions of Americans.

Truthfinder aggregates hundreds of millions of publicly available criminal, traffic, and arrest records and posts them online so they can easily be searched by anyone. Members of the site can literally begin searching within seconds, and are able to check as many records as they like (think: friends, family, neighbors, etc. etc.).

Previously, if you wanted to research someone’s arrest records, you might have had to actually go in to a county court office—in the appropriate county—and formally request information on an individual. This process may have taken days or weeks, or the information might not have been available at all. With websites like Truthfinder, however, a background check takes just a few clicks of the mouse, and no more than a minute or two.

While doing research for this article, I was anxious to do quick search for myself to check out just how good this service really is. Much to my embarrassment, the search revealed several items I’d totally forgotten about—one of them being a secret social media account I’d opened years ago under a fake name, that I’d really rather no one find out about.

"a secret social media account I’d opened years ago under a fake name, that I’d really rather no one find out about."

girl-on-laptopAfter searching for myself and finding my full report, my curiosity got the best of me and I started looking up old boyfriends. A relationship in college ended abruptly when my boyfriend disappeared my sophomore year amidst rumors of drug possession. When I found his report I was shocked to see a criminal record pop up with prison time served with a “Not-Specified” offense! I always thought he seemed a little shady and now I know the truth.

Not only does TruthFinder show criminal records, but it surprisingly includes more general background information like previous addresses, phone numbers, birthdates, estimated income levels, court records, multiple types of licenses (FAA, DEA) and even satellite documentation of current and past addresses—it’s shocking just how much information is revealed in these reports.

In addition to giving information on the specific person you searched for, the reports also includes a interactive list of sex offenders located around the addresses listed in the report. The reports even show you a map plotting out their locations complete with really unnerving mugshots.

I started poking around my childhood home address, and I was totally shocked to see that more than 20 registered sex offenders are living nearby. With listed crimes ranging from “Indecent Liberties” to “Rape of a Child”, it was chilling to think of potential danger of the families living in my old neighborhood.

I would definitely recommend this tool to friends and family. Anyone can start running background checks on Truthfinder within a few seconds—just click this link to get started.

Note from the Author

I have to warn you before you start your search, the information you find may be overwhelming and has the potential of changing your view of the search subject forever. Keep this in mind when completing your search.
